The best case is the one you never need. Good gear does not prevent every crash, but it dramatically changes what happens to your body when the pavement arrives. Here is how we think about ATGATT — All The Gear, All The Time.
Helmets
A DOT- or ECE-rated full-face helmet is the single most important piece of gear you own. Replace it after any impact, and check the manufacture date — the protective materials degrade over time.
Jackets, gloves, and armor
Abrasion-resistant materials and CE-rated armor at the shoulders, elbows, and back turn a life-altering slide into road rash. Look for gear that fits snugly so the armor stays where it belongs in a crash.
Boots and pants
Ankles and feet take a beating in even low-speed drops. Over-the-ankle boots and armored riding pants are the most commonly skipped — and most commonly regretted — pieces of gear.
Ride safe, ride covered
Gear keeps you upright and whole. If the worst happens anyway, Steel Horse Law is here — join a free safety clinic or reach out any time.
